Nevada State University School of Education to Host Degrees of Impact Awards Gala
Nevada State University’s School of Education will host its Degrees of Impact Awards Gala on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, for an evening of celebration, purpose and investment in the future of Nevada’s workforce.
The gala will recognize outstanding alumni, supporters and community partners while raising funds to help School of Education students complete their degrees, fulfill required clinical experiences and begin careers serving Nevada’s schools, clinics and communities.
The School of Education prepares professionals through three critical pathways: teacher education, speech-language pathology and school psychology. Students apply their knowledge through hands-on experiences at schools and clinical sites, as well as through Nevada State’s Speech-Language Pathology Clinic and Psychoeducational Mental Health Clinic. The school also operates an Early Childhood Education Center that provides learning opportunities for Nevada State students while serving local families.
During their final year of study, many students must complete a full-time, semester-long student teaching placement, clinical externship or internship. Because these required experiences are typically unpaid, they can create financial challenges for students balancing intensive professional training with tuition and living expenses.
Funds raised through the gala will provide financial assistance, resources and tools to help students complete these requirements and enter the workforce prepared to serve. This support is especially important as Nevada continues to experience demand for qualified educators in high-need areas, as well as speech-language pathologists and school psychologists.
